AWARENESS
At ESF, everyone should be able to feel safe and comfortable. To achieve this it is important that everyone is aware of their boundaries and needs, as well as recognizing and respecting those of others. However, if you should have any questions, concerns or troubles, the awareness team is happy to help you.
🦺 AWARENESS TEAM
You can recognize us by the purple vests. We walk around on the dance floors and party grounds to look out for you. If you feel uncomfortable, need earplugs or have had a negative experience, please approach us. We will listen to you and react accordingly, accompanying you to the safe room if you want to.
Of course you can also approach all other ESF helpers (for example bar personnel) if you need help. They are happy to help you or make sure that someone else from the team assists you.
☎️ AWARENESS HOTLINE
If you need help but can’t find an awareness helper we also have a hotline. The Awareness Hotline is reachable from 21:00 to 03:15:
044 632 75 27
SAFEROOM
Room HCI E2 is a safe space to retreat to if you or others feel distressed or overwhelmed. Take note of the entrance on your way onto the grounds.
All reasons to visit are valid. We are here to help, not judge. One of us will be present in the safe room at all times.
INCLUSIVITY
Unfortunately, discrimination is everywhere, also at ETH. Therefore it is important for us to actively work against it. Please help us in doing so by looking out for others, reporting incidents of discrimination and staying respectful even when intoxicated.
CODE OF CONDUCT
At ESF the Code of Conduct of VSETH applies. You can find it here:
AFTER THE PARTY
The Awareness Team will also be here for you when the music goes quiet and the dancing comes to an end. If there is anything you would like to tell us, please contact awareness@esf.ethz.ch after the event.
We will handle your complaints with discretion and won’t act or disclose anything without your explicit consent.
